Work was done as a continuation of the Topology+ Timber thesis section taught by Tsz Yan Ng, Wes McGee, and the SOM Chicago Team. The research was funded by SOM and the final outdoor learning space/pavilion will be featured in the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial.

Part of 3 student team selected to finalize the pavilion design in collaboration with SOM.

Designed and fabricated prototypes to test assembly, fabrication, milling operations, joinery, etc.

Will be responsible for generating GCode for the final 5-Axis CNC milled timber members in
MasterCAM 2020. We will then fabricate and machine all required timber pavilion members in Ann Arbor for final assembly in Chicago. -
Will work with SOM team to generate and finalize required permit drawings for the city of Chicago.

Work was funded through the Spatializing Digital Pedagogies [SDP] research grant offered by Taubman in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our proposal, Channel T.W.O. [Taubman Workshop Online], was intended to document the studio culture and experience of Taubman College prior to the pandemic to offer incoming students a better perspective into the school.

A series of videos with diverse topics and goals ranging from software tutorials to animations offering advice was generated by each team member.

Worked as part of an eight-person team designing and fabricating a 2500 sq. ft. exhibition titled, “The Weatherlab” for the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum.

Worked as part of the three-person team in charge of designing 4 large, digitally fabricated installation pieces for the exhibit.

Worked with clients, museum administration, and city officials to finalize design, secure funding, and research other successful facilities.

Team was responsible for the planning, design, construction documents, shop drawings,prototyping, and fabrication of the exhibit pieces.
-
Exhibit opened in September 2017 and will remain as part of the museum for 10-15 years.
